Is Intercpetor the only "in tank" treatment for Red Bugs?

Incorrect.

I just picked up 6 tablets from my vet, Saturday. I'd heard rumors of a supposed shortage so asked my vet. She says she's unfamiliar with any supposed shortage and had plenty in stock. Nor has she had any issues ordering it, on their usual order schedule. In fact, she'd just placed an order, Wednesday, August 22nd and was expecting it to arrive today.
 
Link worked for me... Seems like it will be a temporary shortage at most... I have not heard of any local shortage...
 
Interesting. This "shortage" is still completely unknown to my local vet, who's not at all effected by any shortage and able to get as much stock as needed. I actually spoke with her again, yesterday, specifically asking about a possible shortage. She knew of none and after checking with her supplier, her supplier knew of no shortage either. She's researching it further
 
My vet friend said that the shortage was due to a possible mix up by the manufacturer of human medicines and interceptor. He said that he hasn't been able to get it for a few months. Confirmed here: http://www.askavetquestion.com/news/2012/interceptor-sentinel-shortage/

He gave me the puppy trail 10 pack because that is all he had left. Anyone ever used the puppy ones? They are 2.3mg each. My worry is that I will likely use several pills at once and I worry about the inert ingredients in it being too much. Are there any issues with using the small ones in anyone's opinion?
 
Does anybody know where you can get some interceptor? I just found some red bugs. I know people are saying there is a short but any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
 
I just ordered mine from megapetsupplies in Australia, paid 60 bucks total with shipping. I heard shipping takes about a week from another member.

I got a lot of redbugs. Some acros are doing well but others have retracted polyps and I'm sure its stunting the growth.
 
Interceptor manufacture line is CLOSED. They were shut down due to violations and abnormalities in product line. You can STILL get interceptor but BEWARE where you get it from. Some companies/DVM's claim they have stock of it, but not sure WHERE they are purchasing it, or how its being stored.
