Looking at the forum we are all getting overgrown. Is there interest in a frag swapp maybe in early April before summer gets into full swing?

Elsewhere please

Round up as many people as SEA does and we'll talk. Remember the old ACRO auctions when you could bring your whole tank and make $12, the SEA auctions have such a better turnout and people are actually interested in SPS. I'm all for putting together smaller swaps too though, Id just like to clear out some stuff all you guys already have too.

why don't we have monthly meetings like FRAG in phoenix? They do Auctions bi-monthly too :) red dragon frag 3.5" went for $25!

The last sea auction wasn't fun as 3 people bought 90 percent of everything. I'm all for selling frags for a decent price, but things got cost prohibitive when green slimer frags were $50. People that were saposed to pay for stuff with cash in hand were trying to pay sea with their credit card for frags bought at the auction. I thank sea for hosting last time and mike for shelling out for food and lost weekend volume. However I liked the old frag swap feel was meet up at fellow reefers place, show and tell, then a frag swap where frags are cheaper than a lfs, but still decent for the guy selling the frag. It is also a better location to hang out and b.s. about reef stuff and make real connections vs crowding into a lfs and then bailing after the auction. I'm willing to lose a few bucks on frag prices for connecting with people in the Tucson reef community.

Green Slimer frag for $50.... *** who in their right mind would pay that! I gave those frags away for $5 when i had a good sized colony. I saw you guys do it like FRAG up in Phx does...

1) going to SEA is great, but like JOhn said its super crowded... I've seen the photos.
2) Frag swap at someones house or at like a resturante/bar that someone knows and is good friends with is much better. You can shoot the shiz with people and get to know the fellow reefers. I would go just to say hi to people and say whats up. I don't have a coral tank down here going right now so i'd like to just meet up with you guys and get ideas about set ups and stuff.

I am down for what ever buy like you say it is was crazy at sea last time. I rember a slimer went for more that a giant rock with a huge red planet on it.

Ill sale slimmer frags for $40 all day long, LOL

Agreed assuming people are stupid enough to pay for them haha .... no I'd feel bad I like to grow, frag and help others out... if I nake a little cash doing it ti off set the cost over time than so be it

I did some acro swaps in the later days and it was ok. I guess it boils down to what is the focus? Sell frags or socialize? If someone wants to pay through the nose for frags great for the sellers. Remember it is only auction style to help break the ice and get buyers and sellers going. There is time before the auction starts to trade or buy one on one. I have done it a lot. So until we as people can create a club with someone to step up as leaders and organizers, I believe SEA is the club for me.
