I have an LTA about size small dinner plate had color (medium pink) under year plus old 10K MH lighting (3)- 250W. I just changed them over to 14K and now seems to be bleaching. Still eats, still expands, still has foot attached in the sand just not sure whether to move him up higher or not onto rock work or not. Hes real flat and wide with with MH on and then when they go off he seems to close alittle and extend his trunk upward. Any advice be great. THANKS

I wouldn't move it, that will most likely just add more stress to whatever the original problem is, especially since LTA, M.Doreensis are sand dwelling anemones, placing it on live rock would only compound the issues.

My theory is, depending on when the last time you changed that 10k bulb and what brand it was, if you had it running for a year plus the par might have dropped off significantly and the anemone is adjusting to the new, brighter light.

You might what to put a window screen between the light and the anemone and see how it reacts.

You would have to give us more info for any other theories at this point, tank size, inhabitants, parameters, maintenance schedule, new additions, ect...

Its a 220 acrylic 72x30x24. It has perc clowns, damsel, couple gobys, bi color angel, clown tang, pygmy angel ..all rather young guys/girls. Parameters are all within specs are at (0). The tang is the newest but he doesnt bother anything just swims aimlessly. Like i said the anemone seems very happy but just very light pink almost white. I was trying to be proactive if I needed to be but i new they liked the sand.

I would leave it... pulling it out will probably cause more harm than good... check the age of the bulbs, it might be time to change them, if they're good, then keep feeding weekly and let it be

I would think it would move on it's own if it needed. No need to move an animal that can move by itself. It may just go right back to the same spot.

Chage of color of the animals with light change is normal. He will adapt to the light unless it is not enough. Anemones will move to where they want. I would just leave him be.
