Hi, I have a 200 G SPS tank zeostart fueled, BK 250 skimmer, with 0 phosphates and 3 X 250 W HQI. KH has been at 6.5 for several months, since i climbed to 7.15 (within 1 month) some sps show algae/whitening tips. Other parameters have remained constant (Ca 440 Mg 1400). Some zeovit additions are regularly performed (zeostart, iodium, potassium, b balance , xtra special, zeobak). Should i decrease again KH to 6.5 ? anyone with this experience ?

Thanks

^agree with that. We need pics. It sounds like the problem might be growth lol. I keepy my alk between 7-8 in my sps tank and have had zero issues as far as burning tips, even when i dose directly into the display when I'm being extra lazy.

It does sound like new growth. I keep my alk between 7 and 8 also. Recommended range is 7 to 11 dKH, but has been it's been suggested that if you're running bio-pellets, etc., to keep it closer to NSW. What kit(s) are you testing with?

I agree completely. I bleached my tank by running my Alk around 10.5 dKh because it's ULN. I have since dropped my Alk to ~7.5dKh and all the color has returned.
