Is it possible to have 4 streams in a 240 with a sand storm?

I started converting to bare bottom...... but I am strating to not like the looks of it.....

I have 2 no. 6060's and 2 no. 6101's on a controller........

I like plenty of flow, and have an "open" aquascape...... but my two 6060's alone seemed to kick up the caribsea sand...... now I have got the pair of 6101's I am assuming that it would cause a major sand storm........

Thoughts - comments - suggestions - peoples experiecnes?

It mainly comes down to placement and maturity of the sand bed, also you will want to avoid sugar sand. I don't think it should be difficult. Carib Sea uses our pumps in trade shows all the time. Position the pumps so they are high up and aimed down the longest length possible (diagonally or across the length)

Thanks Roger...... yes I was talking about the sugar fine stuff......

I wouldn't go for a DSB but rather a SSB, which sort of makes the sugar fine stuff a bit more suitable.......

I'm gonna have a scout around at differnet sand types I think..... thanks

Sometimes if you layer a course aragonite on top of sugar sand that will work.

I'm using a SSB and is getting blown up all over the place. I reduced the flow to half and will re-positioned them to how Roger suggested above.

Thats my fear! But I want the flow..... I love strong flow and believe it keeps fish healthy and fit, as well as keeping detritus in suspension and maximising the effect of LR......

I may well have to just accept that sand+flow in my tank is not feasible.......... I'll none the less give it a go and see how goes.....

I came accross an aragonite sand that is at least twice the grain size of the sugar fine stuff...... yet still alot more fine than the typical crush coral sand...... this might be the thing for me........
