Is Lawnmower Blenny SPS safe?

you best bet would be a starry blenny. they eat just as much algae and seem to be a little less prone to pick at corals. i have had both and noticed this. but my algae blenny was a little less shy also.

I have never had any issues with a lawn mower blenny and sps, but the starry blenny is probably a better option because they seem to be less aggressive.

This note of warning really only applies to people along the Gulf coast, but there is a molly-miller look-a-like that people like to catch down at the jetties in Galveston. Be warned, these will target your LPS, then even go to SPS after that. I got a mated pair and they were really cute until I watched one eat my only acan. Lol.

I decided to get starry blenny. This guy jumps! I caught him on my floor couple of times. I need to cover my rimless now. Does yours jumps out too?

Mine does not, but he lives in a 375 gallon tank with plenty of space.

These are algae eaters. If they are picking at corals there is algae on there.
Reef safe...YES.

My Starry has never touched a coral in 4 years, well never eaten one. It will rest on them sometimes. Aggressive though, I make a mental note to prepare for the bite every time I put my hand in the tank, saves the water splashing on the floor from sudden arm jerks.:bounce2:
