Is my 300g tank about to crash ?

It sounds like you just did too much at once, just take it easy with too many changes with sps and they can actually be pretty tough. btw the alk change prob is the biggest prob. My 2 cents worth

IMO he did very little changes. Imagine what takes place when people do a tank transfer lol

Salt is completely different between different brands. Some have high alk, calcium, magnesium and other have extremely small amounts. If you switch salts quickly and are not testing parameters often things can easily get out of hand! I'm thinking about switching from IO to Seachem Reef salt and know alk is around 8.5, mag is ~1400, and Calcium is high at about ~560-580.

I'll be making a slow transition as I do daily water changes of 5 liters throughout the day through my LMIII (150 intervals of changing water throughout day makes it very stable).

Quick update,
My leather coral has opened up a bit and a small number of polyps on one of my acros popped out their little heads.
Water perameters are stable with calcium lowering slightly to 370.
No change with the fish.

Danreefman,
I will need to raise my calcium a bit but I have decided not to adjust anything for seven days and test the water every day to get a propper idea of whats going on in the tank.
It is a balance between alk and calcium, like having a bowl that will hold 50 marbles only. If there are already 50 blue marbles in there and you want to add some red marbles you will have to displace some of the blue marbles.

With this in mind I always read about people with eleveted alk and calcium well above 400ppm.

So I wonder if I only have 40 marbles(for example) in my bowl or is there always 50 of somthing in there.
