i notice the mouth isnt shut tight? the color is fine, its just my phone and the lighting that make it look lighter.

it has only been in the tank for 3 days. do i need to feed it already? is the mouth like that because it's still adjusting?

I wouldn't worry about feeding it just yet. Wait until it is fully settled in.

The mouth doesn't look too bad, but would like to see it completely closed, but I have seen worse.

I have a feeling that you might want to move it sometime -- that looks like a tight spot, and they like to spread out.

im pretty sure hes a goner :(

Why are you so sure its a goner.By the pics this guy looks like he just adjusting to his tank.I do agree with Todd that he might want to move out so he can spread out!But I dont think by the pics hes for sure going to die!

i just checked it out. Shut the pumps off and used a flash light to see how it's doing and it's inverted, along with being deflated. I'm going to see how it does when the lights come on at 3pm. That's a pretty bad sign, right?

It isn't a good sign, but would like to see a picture of how bad it is inverted.

Does it look at all like this?

Well here he dosent look really bad.The guts arent to bad either. But the guts are still seen.If he looked very much like Todds photo above and then reinflated I would say there is a chance he could die.I think Todd has a few photos were you can see what happed to his over a period of a few days or so till their death!

:( hope not. i tried to move him. i took out a rock and tried to dig a hole for it, but he was stuck on the glass and kept trying to wrap around me when i was trying to slowly rub the foot. i left him there for now so it doesnt stress out more. I guess if something happens ill know within a few days

My question as to whether you fed was more a marker of whether or not he would eat. If he is completely nonreactive to positive stimulation in the environment, that's a bad sign. It's good that he moved when you touched him, but not as good as it could be if he was currently eating.

Have you tried feeding? Try to see if he'll respond to food (indicating extra energy expenditure) or if he is still in "survival mode" (were he only responds to negative stimulus).

Hope he pulls through-- good luck!

Re: Is my haddoni ok?

its been in my tank for 10 days now, i think it has a chance of making it. i tried to bury its foot in the sand and it didnt like it. its on the side of a rock now

I know you're worried and you want to do what's best but unless you are at the point where you think you are going to remove the anemone completely, just leave it alone. Right now it doesn't look bad at all. When it starts to really die, you will know.

There really isn't anything you can do for it (as long as your tank is properly set up) so poking and prodding doesn't help. Just watch it and maybe document what you're seeing in your logbook for future reference.
