Is Shamu acting normal?

Since I got my perc last week his name being shamu, every night hes been swimming uncontrolably towards the surface of the water at night like hes scared. Tonight is different, hes sleeping on the sand bed, is this normal. Here is a bad pic with my camera phone.. He wasnt happy when the flash went off, but quickly returned to his spot in about 5 seconds, I just wanted to know if he was acting normal.

Do you have moonlights on at night? My clown will swim at the top of the water when the moonlight is on.
