Is smaller leveling mat with tank overhang safe?

Photos attached. Would you leave as is
or use shims instead?

It looks like plastic inserts holding the bolts, not welded metal with threads.

There are 6 of the adjustable feet, if total
weight being 600lbs, each foot would have 100lbs of stress on the thread/bolt/feet?

If you're concerned, remove the feet, put the stand directly on the floor and use shims to level. Personally, I was concerned with my levelling feet (as previously mentioned, but I believe I'm in the clear. Granted, my stand came (from the manufacturer) with the tank and there are no reports of Pro Clear stands failing that I have found.

I have to get help to take the tank off again. Not looking forward to it but looks to be the correct way. Seller stated feet extended to far and dangerous.

I just don't get it. Build a stand that handles 750lbs but put plastic feet inserts on it.

Kinda depends on who makes it. You had posted the stand as Generic Amazon so I’m not sure what to think.

In the case of Pro-Clear, they are a display tank manufacture. IMO, the stands are well constructed of material over an aluminum frame. They know if the stand is weak, she can either fracture or seals fail. Mine came with metal couplings to the frame. On certain floor types, I would have used them without any concern.

The stand I see looks nice to me. While it’s likely the stand is fine as is, I would agree with your thinking to eliminate anything that “doesn’t make sense” upfront and be done with that. You’ll sleep better!

I'll add that on my Pro-Clear tank, it is sitting on a concrete basement floor that has vinyl plank flooring.

There you go!
Can’t beat that!
Specifically, like in my case, the feet were not on the beams and I had some concern of warping the wood flooring.
It may not have mattered at all.

Agreed. I retracted the feet so they no longer extend and used shims listed below.
They have some squeeze to them. Seller stated, more compression it has, harder it will be. Hope that logic is sound.

So no more worries of the feet but unsure about the shims now, lol

They have the thickness I need so it works out to level the stand.

Brand: Tahikem
8 Pcs Black Shims, Shims for Leveling Furniture

I have to get help again to take tank off stand, remove both ends of the stand to raise the small shelf higher. So I can fit ATO reservoir in it. Thought I was done. :-|

You're never done when it comes to this hobby :ROFLMAO:

I would go buy some commercial vinyl tile 1x1 foot square and cut it and stack it to get the thickness you need. It is 1/8th inch thick
They may have some broken ones they will give you. You can score it with a razor knife and snap a piece off.
It will not compress.
Or jut buy 1 - $2.29 each
compresses 0.005 in at 125psi
