Is there a Dwarf Sea Hare (Aplysia) or are they babies?

Both in stores and online, I see small Aplysia being sold as "Dwarf Sea Hare".

Are they actualy a smaller species, or are they just small specimens of the big ones that grow to six inches or larger. They do look different since they don't seem to have the "wings" like the big ones, but that could just be a factor of maturity.

Aplysia species range in maximum size from around an inch to over a foot long. We'd need to see pictures of the ones being sold to know what species they belong to and whether they're babies or small adults.

Good to know some do stay small!

Here is the pic. This little critter is one inch long.

I'm not sure but I think it's Dolabrifera dolabrifera. One of my reference books says it gets up to 4 cm

looks just like the one i bought yesterday. it is just over 1" long. i really hope it stays small.
