Is there any problem with plumbing a vertical drop from the drain to the sump?

I have been trying to come up with a plan for my plumbing situation for a while now. Is there anything wrong with just using a Durso pipe, to a bulkhead, and to the sump with PVC? Thanks.

NO VALVE WITH A DURSO!!! That is just asking for problems. A straight shot down is actually best, although what I do to minimize noise is use a PVC "T" fitting with the leg pointing out positioned just above the sump water level. This allows the air to escape and will reduce both noise, bubbles, and salt creep

I'm having trouble imagining this, any photo? I'm using a filter sock if that makes a difference.

One side of mine drops pretty much straight down. It was burping/flushing like crazy. I fixed it by reducing my flow enough that it settled down, but I was hoping to have a bit higher flow via my return pump.

The other side runs down, then near-horizontal, then down into sump and never burped. vOv
