Is there still a healthy population of reefers on the island?

Hi all. I seem to remember the lira board a little more active a few years ago. Where are all the f/s threads? Where are all the upgrades? Have we peaked?

All those sale threads seemed to represent people leaving the hobby. I don't need to tell you that the economy has not been good in recent years. The cost of maintaining a system has increased dramatically, and I haven't seen anything to indicate that it's going to improve any time soon.
It's a cyclical thing though, and it will come back around. There will be an influx of new hobbyists. Many will kill a lot of animals and decide to sell off all their stuff. most of the rest will be successful, and stay in the hobby for a while, beefing up club membership numbers. Stick it out, it'll be worth it.

There are a bunch of us still here, even a bunch of the old crowd. I think people just haven't been using R.C as much as we used to then. Club meetings and the MR swap are still well attended-

most people never leave for good. you can only go for so long without a tank after you were part of the hobby.

the last few meetings werent packed with people but their are still a good amount of people who attend.

the boards seem to liven up just before the meetings. people posting f/s threads and wtb threads in hopes of getting what they want at the next meeting.
