i don't really like the test strips i have. i know that there are digital monitors out there so is there one that will monitor my ph, calcium, temp, ammonia, nitrate and nitrite? a do it all monitor?>

The ph and temp would be the most feasible. The rest would be very expensive or nonexistant. IMO.

yeah i just don't want to do anymore test strips or eye dropper test anymore. hard to read. and why is there a copper test? is copper something that's important?

copper will kill your inverts, coral, anemones, crabs, etc.. also some fish will not tolerate high levels of copper

Sorry I just meant how often do you test for everything?I was just wondering,I never test my tank for anything but calc, alk. My controller does the temp, and ph.I use the corals as a test kit.If the dont look right then I test.probly not a good idea but I never had any real problems.

Don't forget to test for Magnesium, it's important for keeping your Ca and Alk in line.

Yea,your right but I haven't bought a magnesium test kit in a while so I forgot but if you water changes often and use good salt your mag. should stay pretty good but I do add tropic mar. magnesium every once in a while.IMO

I hardly if ever test for anything. If you've be doing this for ahile you can tell when things aren't right. Thats when I test. OR when setting up a new toy...IE calcium reactor. I test for a few weeks in a row to makesure things are ok.

I test Calcium and alk about 1/mo. Typically if they are outta whack, I will test Mg.

As far a pH, I recommend investing in an electronic monitor such as a Pinpoint or Milwaukee. I find test strips/liquid pH test kits too subjective. For <$100 pH its worth it.
