is there such thing as a reef safe nudi?

of course there are. Not many of them are very suitable though, as they can easily get caught up in a powerhead. But not all eat corals. The lettice nudi, for example, is an algae grazer and can be fine as long as it doesn't get sucked up by anything. Other things like the purple queen, however, only eats orange sponges.

there's also lettuce nudibranches

problem with them is if you have any pumps, forget about having one for very long if you don't cover it. and if you do cover it, then you restrict your flow...

It all depends on your tank. I have green lettuce nudibranches in a nano tank with low flow. I use small hang on filter and they are just fine. What the other people mentioned is very true when dealing with larger tanks with big pumps and/or overflows.
