Hi all,
I am about to order this stuff, you think I made good decisions? I want to be able to take good pictures of my corals number 1... and maybe have this for snorkeling and scuba too.

Cannon EOS 50D SLR Body
Cannon 100mm f-2.8 USM Macro Autofocus lens
Nimar NI303D Underwater Housing f- Cannon EOS

Thank you for your help!

Well the camera and lens are great decisions, I ordered the same camera actually...it should come in tomorrow! :) I can't speak for the housing but it sounds solid. Make sure that lens will fit inside it I guess? Underwater stuff is usually wide angle anyway though, you'll likely use a different lens for scuba. But maybe not?

I have the same camera and lens and I am very happy with them. You should also invest in a nice flash. I went with the 430EX II and it does everything I need and more. A remote for the flash is nice as well, check out cactus remotes. They are very affordable and work great.

I have the 50D, and I been nothing but happy with this camera!!

As for that lens, I recently rented one for three weeks. It is a great lens, and easily will be my next purchase.

No idea on the housing.

The recommendation for the 430 EX II is also one to consider. It's a great flash, and the results I have seen from it are quite impressive. It has produced many photos that you would not have had a flash used at all without very close examination.
