You also have to look in to RAW image processing soft ware. You don't have to shoot pics in RAW put if your going to spend that much on a camera you should.

I found consumer reports online very helpful when I was camera shopping - it is only $4.95 a month for their online subscription and it really explains all the bells and whistles and helps you decide what you need and don't need

Ted thats a top of the line SLR camera (top of the line unless you're a photographer)probably way more than you need to start out with.
