Is this a superman monti?

I keep seeing this offered online and such, saying its an indo or whatever aquacultured superman... but IMO.... its not worth half of what people are wanting to sell them for...

True supermans have a much more bumpy texture with clear color difference between polyp and base color...

i have a lighter/washed out version of superman monti...

light purple with orangish/light red polyps...not as nice looking as the above pic, but it cost me $40 for a 2" frag.

I picked it up saturday when I drove down to MD to visit pacific east aquaculture...

here is a link to the piece i picked up..

It is a really nice monti, it´s well worth the money.
The monti that I was being sell is nice, I´m not saying it´s horrible, but it´s not worth 220 bucks.

For the 'true' SM in the states you are usually looking to pay about $80 for a half to 3/4th inch piece, but prices seem to be dropping slightly.

Yeah, as more and more people get one of those and start selling frags, price will drop. Same as rose BT anemones and tort frags.
Just to give you an idea, if a coral costs 100 bucks in the US, I will have to pay about 180 bucks in here.
Sad but true.

i got one of those in a package deal from dr macs and they kind of look like a supperman but they are not i have a superman and thy somwhat look like it but after about 3 or 4 monts i washed out and all the real superman did not but still nice but not 200 dolllars nice.

not to be rude, but the color saturation in that pic is over-compensated - the tang isn't even the correct color yellow - Superman monti aren't going to look like that when you see them in person.

I've seen plenty of superman frags close-up and IMO they make much better photo subjects than pieces for my tank (due to their beauty belonging to the very small details) The colors are there, but from 5-feet away they don't come close to the macro photos you see online

One of the first corals people notice in my 120.

I'd love to see a FTS

Sure it will, if you use nothing but 20000k bulbs and a thousand watts of VHO actinic bulbs :)

While the tang looks a wonderful nuclear yellow I think the giveaway is the non-coraline covered parts of the egg crate looking blue rather than white :)
