Is this Crispa or Malu?

From the tentacle count I would agree that it is a crispa, though not a very happy one judged by the tentacle length.

I have 2 malu and 3 small crispa, at least that's as what they were sold. It is really hard to tell the difference, especially if the crispa isn't very happy and has its tentacles shortened. The last one I got from LA was bleached and went down in size quite a bit since I got it. It also went significantly down in tentacle length.

My percula pair #2 clearly preferred the "crispas" when I put all 5 anemones into their tank yesterday. Though by now they are also venturing into the malu that right next to their two crispas. This malu was previously inhabited by percula pair #3 before I upgraded them to a purple gig.

In general I would say that a crispa should have much longer tentacles, at least when it's happy and healthy.

I think it is a new addition for OP which would make sense that it may be tight right now, hence shorter tents

That's right, it's a new anemone added just mins before the pictures were taken. It's doing better now and has expanded quite a bit. The anemone went from really week LED strips at LFS to Kessil A360W. Here's an updated pic.

Tentacles are still a bit on the short side for a crispa but it looks already much better in the last images. The really good thing is that it isn't fully bleached.

Here's the same/similar Crispa I had before. it was smaller in size but its colors were more vivid. In the picture below it was new to the tank.

What I have is definitely a Malu. I have done some research and compared my nem to others. Given the shape of the anemone and length of its tentacles it's not a Crispa. Here's what it looks like today

And here's one of the Crispas I had before
