Is this cyano or GHA?

I left for a 2 week vacation and my family overfed the tank. When I returned, I noticed slimy hair algae. I'm starting to think it may be cyano. However with white lights, it looks brown and hairy like GHA. But in the evenings when the tank is running just blues, they have a deep red tint.

It doesn't disperse when I take a turkey baster to it. I scrub it off with a toothbrush and 2 days later it'd start to reappear again in the same areas. I already have plenty of flow in the tank and added more to see if it would help but negative. It's on rocks, frags, sand bed, and starting to take on corals.

looks like GHA. easy to get rid of. Use Phosphate RX to reduce phosphate level and loosen the GHA so u can easily pull them out. Get a small container of regular water (not salt water) and dip ur fingers in the fresh water after each pulling out of the gha. This prevents gha filaments from getting released back into tank. FYI chlorophyll will fluorescence under deep enough blue light to a red just like that. I have a UV-A flashlight that will turn every patch of algae and every aiptasia bright red with my other lights out.

Ahh makes sense now! Thanks everyone! Glad I don't have to resort to chemiclean. I've been feeding very minimal and doing some large water changes since you return from vacation. Currently have gfo and carbon in the sump but my dual reactors are otw. [emoji1417]

Don't be scared of chemiclean/red slime remover..
Great products to use when needed for cyano.. Little harm in using it (unless you are cyano)..

And yes.. Throw a bright green house plant under red/blue LEDs and it will look black..
