Is this enough LEDs?? Advice please

I have a 135g tanks, 72-18-24, will 96 3w cree LEDs be sufficient lighting for the tank? The reason I'm asking is bEcause I currently have 24 more LEDs the tank but I'm thinking of newer fixtures that would decrease the number of LEDs by 24. Any advice will be greatly appreciated thanks!!

If you are using Crees especially XP series yes 96 would be fine.

Easily enough, are you using optics? How high will the leds be?

i'm not currently, i was but took them off because they made the tank look less crisp, the lights are hung about a ft above the tank, so it needs to reach down about 3ft.

You are losing a lot of light by skiping on the optics, not sure how much PAR you will have in the bottom half without optics.

The optics make a hugh difference with the par, what degree optics did you have on there. When I did a par reading on my tank, the par at the bottom without the optics was around 80ish with the optics they where near 200ish. I have a 24" tall tank.
