Is this light strong enough for corals?

The bigger fixture has 48 leds and runs at 3.0 watts! Those leds are running at 0.065 watts each.

The answer to your question is; if your tank is 1" deep and you put the fixture 1" above the water... naw, probably not!

You need to look at fixtures using 3 watt to 5 watt leds.

I had a fixture just like that. It came with my CADlight tank and was considered a sump light for inside the stand. I've had it for 4 months and the other day the female side of the plug in the fixture rusted away and caused a light failure. This is one of those cases where spending $10 is too much!

I started with a light like that over my sump thinking it would be sufficient for macro algae. I was wrong.

That light would be best suited for reading a book in a dark room.
