That looks quite focused for simple light spill. Where is that beam originating from, the edge of the back panels maybe? . Is it the same on the other side?

That would be my preference. When we set up the tank, I ordered 3 of the same. In hindsight, one wide angle and two regulars would probably have been a better choice.

This pic was taken through my web cam and the lights were off in the office. It's not nearly as apparent when the overhead lights are on.

Hard to tell where it's originating from... But yes, if I close the door to the left of the tank I get a similar light pattern.

Are you thinking it may be shining down the back panel and refracting out hte sides?

48 inches. The middle one is dead center and the left/rights are the exact same distance (8" I think) from the edge of the overflow box.

What's probably visually making it look weird is that the center light is further out towards the front of the tank because of the overflow and the fact that the rockwork is pushed forward some as a result. The left/right are a little more in line with the center of the tank to accommodate corals closer to the back glass as the rockwork goes back further than the center.

If it was me, I'd put goose necks on the 2 outside lights and have them angle towards center. If you take your time, and zip tie the wires, you should be able to pretty much hide them.

I was anal about spillage for about a year..now I just position my lights to make my corals happy. Looks fine to me.
