doesnt look like anything like the 2 species of calaustrea that i have.

So I am not crazy??

I have that kind of connection on mine between two sets of heads, of which there are only about 5 1/2. It seems to occur during periods of rapid growth. Mine is a branching sort, but this still happens. I chose the one, though dark, that shows more of the base, though I don't have an exact shot of that feature: this is night, when its feeding tentacles are out. The tissue connection point is right in the center of the specimen.

By itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s growth, it looks almost like a Tubastrea sp. but I never saw a green sun coral.

My LFS has a large colony of this right now (30+ heads). The heads are not seperated, all of them are connected by flesh. I had to do a double take when I first saw it, very cool. Next time I am there I'll take a pic if they still have it, that piece is overpriced on that site tho, they are selling the whole colony for that price at the store I go to.

looks like it is an encrusting calauestrea.. i have never seen it before but it looks awesome.. they have another one of these on the site and it looks sweeet..
