is this silicone safe?

Anyone? didn't think about it and its in the process of drying on a aquaclear fuge, so i could still remove it, please help?

100% silicone is 100% silicone. It should be just fine. You want to stay away from the white stuf or the ones that have anti-bacterial/fungal things in them.

it says in contains methyltriacetoxysilane and ethyltriacetoxysilance.on the front it says 100% withstands saltwater. Not seeing anything about mold.

methyltriacetoxysilane and ethyltriacetoxysilance

These are the silicone precursors. The triacetoxy versions are what we prefer in aquariums because the other kind produces ammonia as it cures. This will produce acetic acid (vinegar). This should be safe.

I wouldn't risk it. That is marine grade for use on boats not aquariums. Look for aquarium safe, most places have it and if it says aquarium safe you won't wonder or ask if it's safe, you'll know.

Thanks for all the info guys, still debating on what i wanna do. Just to clarify i already used it to make an aqua clear fuge, did not think if it would be safe or not till after.... yeah i know.... dumb:hmm3: . I am leaning on putting it in the tank, but don't want 50 dollars to ruin hundreds. Again thanks a lot, and any other opinions would be great.
