Is this the right frag?

I ordered a piece of the blue mesa hyacinthus and got a yellow frag. I know things look different when they have just been shipped, but this looks nothing like the piece I got from you last year. Is this something different?

Aquaticman74,

Thank you for your recent order and the picture you posted. After reviewing the pictures we believe this is a Blue Mesa Acropora Coral. These corals normally have a yellow base with blue tips, your coral is displaying signs of bleaching.

You are correct that corals can look different just after shipping. After shipping it is not uncommon for the color of the coral to fade, as the specimen is still adjusting to your aquarium. Once you receive your coral we recommend acclimating the coral to the lighting in your personal aquarium. We suggest keeping the lights off for the first 10 hours after being placed into the aquarium. On the second day we suggest turning your lighting on for half the normal amount of time you have your photoperiod. Each day thereafter increase the time by an additional hour until you are back to your regular time. This will help ensure your corals safe adjustment to their new home.

You may PM us your order information and we would be happy to extend your warranty for an additional week for this item, in order to allow you additional time to regulate your coral to your aquarium lighting.

I don't think the coral is in any danger of dying, so the extra week isn't necessary. I just wanted to make sure it was what I ordered.

Thanks! :D
