is this to much light

To be honest, that can be a very tricky question. I do know that E. Quadricolor (BTAs) are one of the lower light tolerant anemones but can also take very strong lighting if provided. If you're getting a clone locally tha was previously under strong lighting, I don't see much of a problem. However if you buy a BTA that was collected from the ocean there is a possibility that your current light setup could be to intense. The reason being because you are not sure where your BTA was collectected in the first place. It could have been collected in a low flow, low light area and it could have also been collected in a high flow, high light area. So it really depends.

What I would do is set your BTA on the bottom of the tank on a rock. Watch and observe your BTA and see how it reacts to the lighting. If it goes into hiding or stays deflated most of the day it could be possible that the lighting may be to strong for it.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the advice 55semireef, the btas in question are all clones, they are under mhs, and medium to high flow.I figure that placing the light high maybe cut down the intensity and heat.
