Is this torch in too tight an area

I'd say no. I have one of my heads in a deep hole in a rock. Just enough for the head to be out. Seems to love it.

I don't see any other corals in the picture so I'd say yes.

I will not say too tight for sure but you may run into issues when it starts splitting

Not enough room around it. Torches like to open up, and if their flesh hits rocks it will tear and they'll close up. Eventually the whole colony recedes from not being able to open if it doesn't catch an infection and die first.

Never place fleshy LPS in a spot where the flesh will open into rocks.

I made a frag rack specifically for my torch coral. It now enjoys it's new home on egg crate held on the glass with magnets right at the top of the tank.

I agree. I have lost heads on a torch from it touching rock work.
