Get a John Guest tee, a 1/4" JG tube by 1/4" female iron pipe adapter and a 1/4" back mount pressure gauge. Thats what I have on my incoming line. I think you can buy just this setup from most of the RC sponsors that sell RO/DI systems.

What a AZ describes is the contents of our add on pressure gauge kit. This would take all of about 3 minutes to install. The quick connect tee goes in the tube between the last prefilter and the "in" port on the RO membrane housing.

Edward,

I think pressure is pretty important. I've lived in several rented houses over the last 5 years, and the pressure has gone from 25 psi to 100psi. At each installation, my waste water was a stream, and the product water varied greatly (volume/time wise). My last domicile in the USA had water pressure of 100psi. (Let's talk about water hammer and landlords...)

Now I'm on a well, and the water is 30psi. I bought a booster pump before we even moved in. I'll never go back to running a RO unit on standard household pressure. The difference is night and day.

Is it possible that your water pressure has dropped in some manner? Or did you determine that the problem was a clogged prefilter?

Sorry if this was covered already.

Thanks for the info. guys on the pressure guages. A while after I made that post I realized that the RO/DI system for my FW planted system has an inline incoming pressure guage and it's adapted with an elbow to a JG "T". The guage isn't very good quality though.

Sorry for the thread derail guys!! :)

Thanks again everyone for all your help.

fisheebill, i like them.. but only as a backup. I would still like to have something stronger. The reason why i like them is because it looks great over the rimless tank and doesnt give it a rough look. If the fans were a lot stronger, I would of purchased another set.

GSM, I will see if i can get some pics.

bigdaddy, you didnt miss it.

samson, thank you very much.
