Hey Ed.

I've missed a few pages...

Didnt you have a Vortech on there?

Did you lower the fixture?

Lookin' good Guy. :)

Stand Materials

Hi,

Just wanted to say your stand is beautiful and would like to ask if you don't mind what material was used to cover the wood? Is it Black Ebony?

I really want to have a stand made with a similar look as you have great taste!

Thanks

What light fixture and bulb combo do you have on that? I think it looks great. Not too blue, not too white.

Also a dumb question. But how to do you have your Tunze wires running on the set up? I dont see them hanging in the tank or looking messy.

Sorry, just realized there were older posts before the split I need to answer to.

danskim, no one takes care of it by myself. I was trying out my biomatix controller from the iphone while i was away. pretty cool. It put my mind at ease.

thirschman sorry to hear that. The Biomatix web interface is about to change very soon too. It looks a lot better. Cant wait until its released.

treg, I never purchased the vortech and went with the bad boy tunze since they are more powerful. And yes, I also lowered the fixture to get a couple hundred more PAR to my SPS rock.

brian, its a normal black. It's a competitor of formica. Not sure what the brand name is for this one. There were so many options and colors, but i played it safe and glad i did.

jflip, i have a Giesemann Spectra 72" 3x250w with 4 T5's (2 ATI Blue Plus & 2 Giesemann Actinic). The 250's are 13K Marines on each side and a 22K Giesemann in the middle. As for the tunze, I have the wire running along the edge of the 90 degree angle of the tank going straight down into the stand.

Nick, I don't dare T-bone Edward's thread. His tank's too beautiful for me to T-bone it ;)

Edward, how bout a close up of your SPS island? It looks like its taking off fast!

Ed love the tank your old tank was amazing as well very secritive but amazing lol. My new tank will be up against the wall also

was just about to ask the same!

As Chris Tucker would say "Beauti-FULL." I wish I could see this tank in person. :(

I bet most of the people here don't fathom just how deep this tank is. I sure didn't. The pics are deceiving. Last night I was playing with a tape measure to again check the footprint of a 225 (72 x 30 x 24) in my living room. For gits and shiggles I ran the masking tape out another 10" from the wall and :eek1:. But I wouldn't be surprised if this behemoth is starting to look a little small to you Edward. ;)

BTW, I requested an invoice for an A.G.E. 225 and aluminum stand. Wish me luck. :)

Paul

Terry, let me see if I took any pics yesterday of it.

Paul, it's very large! Not many people have seen this tank in person, but when they do, they are amazed at how deep/wide it is. I am already used to the depth of it, but just looking at it now still amazes me how large it is. I wanted to show how deep it was with the pic above. It's a look you dotn see much around.

flyin, you're welcome.

Marc, Thanks my friend!!

By the way, I was in San Antonio and loved how I could put my mind at ease with these 2 icon favorites on my iPhone. ;) One for entertainment and one for seeing how my tank is doing.
