It has arrived, my new frag tank!!

Thank you Gary and Pascal :) Will leave it for another night so 2.5 days should work right? Either that or it will be a week before I will touch it again.

One more thought, it does not say it in the directions so I will ask you guys for a second opinion. After the final poly coat, should I LIGHTLY sand the stand with really fine sand paper (to get the ultra smooth finish)? I did do that in between coats. So should I do this for after the final coat or will I be taking of the poly when I sand it?

How are you getting your school work done?

I'm lovin' it, but don't fail out because of your time spent on this build

It's a delicate balance Mark! I was at the college library till 1am studying yesterday, this was just one of my many many half sleepless nights- during finals I usually sleep for only 1-2h a night (its an accounting major thing). And I am proud to say that I don't drink coffee!

IMO I wouldn't sand the last poly coat...if you have been sanding it between coats like you say, it ought to be plenty smooth and just take your time applying the last smooth finish.

Looks good so far!!!

That’s what I was thinking I have 3 poly coats it’s more than enough. The sanding was just creativity thing on my part, you know how men are we usually don’t follow directions lol

after waiting a few days, I am now slowly puting things back together. I put the bulbs in the light and did a quick test run: After asking Steve what light combo he uses, I was able to get some awsome bulbs and really cool colors :)
I set the bulbs up as follows:

Front
ATI blue +
ATI aquablue special
KZ fiji purple
ATI blue +
end result:
Just ATI aquablue special and KZ Fiji purple

I also wanted to mention that all newly built Tek lights will come (at least mine did) an acrylic shield :) So no need to purchase one additionally.

Henry, Mark thank you guys! I don’t think this would have been possible if I didn’t do major consulting here prior to every purchase :)

Picked up some things at ABC before I left
I decided to go with Hawaiian black sand:

This is how the bulkhead will act as the drain in the overflow:

Special thanks to Pascal for guiding me in how to make the bulkhead leak free, so far it is :) A lesson to the rest, the rubber o-ring should be on the same side as the "flap" of the bulkhead, usually the are on the inside, but since mine is reversed, in order to make it leak free I had to put it on the outside.
