It.....Has.......Arrived.......

the main drain is the workhorse at full syphon (airless). the secondary drain is basically a oversized open drain, with a very small amount of water flowing that can't create syphon/suction

Right. So why have it at all? Isn't that the point of the "emergency" drain? I mean, it wont kick in unless the airline at the top of the overflow is occluded, correct?

my understanding is that the emergency drain ,is just that . insurance agaist mr murphy. in theory ,it wont be used. the main drain is dialed in to run at full syphon ,plus a little extra to ensure the syphon is not broken. the "extra" is easily and silently taken care of in a oversized drain .

I guess, I get it. I am going to be repeating his model. Designing my overflow box as we speak. Trying to keep it Lo-Pro. Gotta get this beast rolling. Stock piling PVC, bulkheads, and Reef Crystals.

Spoke with Joeswoodworks tonight. Canopy construction begins next week. I'll post pix as I get them. This is sort of turning into a prebuild build thread. Compiling photos as we speak to put together a nice thread once this pig is running.
