I may have missed this, but why are you going to bother running a CaRx if you have a softy dominant tank? Seems like it would be easier to top off with kalk or maybe dose 2 part and call it a day.

Not to hijack the question, but I've had good luck with magic erasers for the general cleaning and an old credit card for the stubborn stuff.

Been doing it twice a week for a year now. For outside i use a dry microfiber cloth and lightly wipe smudges. Inside is magic erasers and a credit card.

By the way, love your tank. Very similar to mine, cube with center overflow.

I use a mangrove 6 to stay on top of the acrylic. I use a dozer pad with it to help get hard spots off. But I have heard of ppl using credit cards with no issues.
I was testing a prototype reactor for geo of a newish design. I have some lps and a few SPS in the tank and more coming is another reason I was using it. More than anything to test out some changes of him and by time I had it all dialed in I would have more coral needing it. Heading towards more coral now.
Worm, no I do not have the WXM for the apex, but I'm looking for one. That way I can program my mp40's pretty easy.

It was. 70* was the warmest. Usually around 50-55 but windy.

So here's a question, I am running a goby gold as my return pump and it's about 75-80% open. Which puts my vortechs at about 20%. Remember the tank is softy/lps dominate. My skimmer is fed with an iwaki 55rlt at about 1100gph. Would it be any difference to throttle back my return pump and increase my vortechs? It chasing skimmer efficiency or anything. Just wondering if there is any real advantage to one or the other

Usually you would match your return pump's output to your skimmer's input to ensure the skimmer is processing as much, but not too much, system water as possible. It doesn't hurt if you send the skimmer less water but you lose efficiency.
