It's Ronas fault

50 gallons in the sump. Definitely need another 50 to turn the main pump on

Back in November 2018 the center support on my old 120 fell into the tank. I ended up tossing everything into the 280. Since then all I've done is feed the fish and do 50 gallons water change every 6-8 weeks maybe 12 weeks here and there lol
I almost shut the tank completely down about 9 months ago. Rams and nook took in my bigger colony's and just in case I got back in. Big thank you guys for doing that

So here's the start

Beautiful tank. Have you tried manual removal on the algae?

When I do a water change I vacuum as much off as possible. I'll start plucking at it sometime soon lol. Also getting ready to order a big CUC

So I finally tested the tank water parameters today. I don't think they are too bad for not testing etc... for 2 years. I even had to read the directions on how to use the test kits [emoji41]

Again all I have done was water changes here and there with zero filtration. I use Instant Ocean salt

And the phosphate reading is in ULR, if I did the math correctly it's around .58

Just curious if you will have store rest them tonight? Was thinking I may bring a sample to double check my numbers

I didn't even consider the store as a testing option. Corals are growing and looking good so at the moment I'm not so concerned with water parameters. I am ordering new test kits and calibration fluid, the kits I have are 2 years old also lol. And really debating on going to another salt mix

How's about an update [emoji2957]

Today I increased the sump level 30 gallons to raise the water level above the impeller. This was to see if I would be able to run the main pump full open and not create micro bubbles as it was. Oh yeah it works great. Went ahead and dialed back the drain lines to quiet it down. Added some live rock from the 90 to the sump and starting adding some dried rock to the display
Added a couple of fish also with today's addition of Rams mean A $$ scoops tang

How's about an update [emoji1787]

Well I started to raise parameters. Got the mag up and went for the alk. Using a calculator online I was being told to add 6 cups [emoji2957]. I like triple checked and kept getting the same answer. I was at 6.6 and want 8. So I said I'll just add 2 cups. Tested 3 days later and the tank is now at 12.6 [emoji15]. The corals were not showing any sign of unhappiness. So let's just let it do it's thing. Well the following week I come home to my furnace heater stuck on. The thermostat was telling the furnace to turn off but the furnace had a different party in mind lol. Even with the AC turned on the heater was still putting heat out. The repair was a simple heat synchronizer So my house was 87 degrees and the tank got up to 93. So I opened all the valves and moved as much water as possible to help cool down. Now I'm left with zero LPS and all big leather melted. Some zoas melted away also but now I've got an infestation of apptisa. So I get a CBB and it doesn't touch a single apptisa so I go get a Klein's. Not only is the Klein's not touching any apptisa it's picking at all my zoas and Palays.
