[Bsorry you percieved me as talking down to you. Thats the thing about emails, you can easily misunderstand or be misunderstood. Cheers [/B]

NP I agree things are easily misunderstood

IVERMECTIN is the most common drug for heartworms in dogs....i used to breed pit bulls and would treat all of them with ivermectin based drugs....you can get pills that have it or you can go to a pet supplier(i have one who gets only the best for dogs...eagle pack and what not for those of you who may know what i am blabbin about)and get the liquid form for horses(its very concentrated) and you must dilute it but you have to be very careful..you dont want horse doses going into a 75 lb dog much less a REEF

no one i know has used ivermectin in aquaria beside the occassional sps supplier( i wouldnt)....

ivermectin and the drug in interceptor(malbsomethingaldajdkfa;...blah) are for the same purpose in veterinary medecine...it is like people ..you can treat something with two different drugs and get same effects HOWEVER.......

---in reef aquaria i wouldnt use something that many others havent tested....i know i am not gonna be the guinea pig for a possible disaster...just go with the interceptor as most people that use it have positive experiences

analogy.....yesh ivermectin will kill red bugs....yesh interceptor kills them....and yesshhh so does a bottle of clorox...do you want to find out the hard way

Thanks for the info . I wouldn't test it in a reef tank either but I would test it with some critters from the display in a qt with the acro subject.

The guy who I know that used it was going for the liquid form but they were out so he grabed the paste which is alot lower concentration so it took more but he treated 30 frags and 10 colonies with less than 1/2 a 8$ tube . But it was all done away from the display.

Eric has put a lot of effort in the hobby as we know. But it was ORA who found the cure for the bugs.Ora is a reseach and devolpement, coral production, and fish breeding center.I'm sure they wouldn't want to put their name on the line if it wasn't safe to use.You have to use it in a safe matter.I've done my display tank 3 times. And there wasn't and coral or invert loses at all.Yes I did lose the pods. But when coral were added, these were replacing back into the system. They just hitched a ride back into my system. And yes without any doubt I would use it again if I have to.But my system today is thiving with life. But like you mentioned, maybe a cure for the Acro flatworms. But now he is saying possible 3 different types. And also been found in the Carribean.Where imports of corals aren't allowed. It would be nice to see,ORA come into play here. And of coarse a few others. But I'm afraid this could take a very long time, before any cure could be found for this worm. And the SPS trade is really taken a toll now, because of it.Nobody really wants the SPS corals,as the way thing are today.

Ora dosen't endorse it Dustin does which Dustin is a Coral Hatchery Manager . IIRC it was Dustin who did most of the work for us on behalf of himself and the rest of the hobbyist.

Yes that's true. But if I'm not mistake wasn't ORA who were the ones, brought them into the hobby. It was in their systems first? So if Dustin wants to really help the hobby.Come on aboard.Where is now or anybody else. Why is it just Eric here? When we need and all out effort. These are probably worst than any red bugs.
