Sorry to hear that!...

Did you start with new sand and rocks, or re-use anything?...

Good luck....

Same rock/sand.
Had the system running for months without anything other than rock/sand.
Water changes, checking levels, let the cycle happen and just started to add a few things a month or so ago.
All levels are solid for the past 3 months and no spikes after adding any fish.
Corals already growing like crazy!!!

amazing. Even having the ability to bounce back from what would have taken the passion out of quite a few. Your previous reef was absolutely stunning. Good luck to your new start, and can't wait to see your new creation fill in.

That really sucks. A generator or battery back up would be a good thing to have. Glad to see you are starting over again.

New year update.
Tank progressing nicely.
Removed all filtration items - Bio pellets, GFO, chem clean elite, Carb....
No algae, clear water and frags growing and coloring up.
Fish eating and having fun in their new home.
Set up a frag holding station in the main tank in prep of frag'n some of the corals next month - ORA ponape birdnest growing like mad.

Glad to see you still have the passion to come back after a devistating setback like that.
I'm sure this time your tank will be even better.

I havent even had a reef tank yet, and just scrolling down to the second picture made my stomach drop! It was beautiful! Glad that you hopped right back on it though
