Jacuzzi pump?

I ended up with one. I see immersion pumps/sump pumps in use. Anything wrong with an outside pump and pipes going into the sump? This thing is mighty mighty.

It's probably way more power than you need :lmao: If you do use it pictures would be nice and I'd put a gate valve inline between it and the hose going for the return to the tank.

From installing jacuzzi pumps for years, I can tell you I've never seen one with marine grade stainless impellers. I don't think it will hurt anything, but eventually the shaft will break.

This is true.. But some of them as I am sure you know have a Marine / SW Upgrade impeller and seal kits.

I have a Saltwater pool pump in my basement that is super huge...

they are usually Power hungry as well...

OP ..

You are better off buying a marine pump.. if you need that much power REEFLO IS The way to go.. they JUST WORK.

Yeah that's true, didn't mean to elude that none of them did. It's just not as common.

Still water passing through a warm motor, it's the main reason I've seen it suggested for not using them on our tanks.

Thanks for the great info. The tank came with a pump for it. I have to look again for the brand. It is also an external pump. I am looking into all options and the pros and cons for each one. I guess I will use that pump for a koi pond outside.
