Happy new year to all! Hope you had a good 2008 and a great holiday season!
Now that all of that is over I would like to announce our next meeting's theme.
We will be hosting an excellent speaker, Steven Pro. He will be giving his presentation entitled "So, I touched it, now what?: A guide to toxic, venomous, poisonous, and contagious things in aquaria."
The meeting will be in the education building and will be at the regularly scheduled time of 7:30pm.
As usual, the club will provide refreshments and will have a nice raffle. The raffle is always a big draw and will be sure to include something of interest to everyone.
One thing that needs to be mentioned is the frags/dry goods/fish being traded at the meetings. It is not against club rules or frowned upon by the club for anyone to handle such business on meeting nights. It is, however, considered in bad taste and inconsiderate for the transactions to take place DURING the scheduled meeting.
If you have a transaction set up with a member PLEASE handle it before the meeting begins or after the speaker has finished his presentation. To have our members conducting business while someone is trying to share their knowledge with us does not show our appreciation for them and reflects badly upon the club.
Also, PLEASE try to refrain from having conversations while there is a presentation being given as it may make it difficult for others to hear the presentation and could possibly offend our guest.
If you would like to read about Steven Pro or learn more about what he has done for the hobby feel free to follow any or all of these links.
