Our January meeting will be:

January 30th
4pm
At Exotic Fish & Coral in Milford

We will be making reef food.
Bob will also be hosting a raffle for the club.

I am going to ask (although not mandatory) that evevryone bring an ingredient for the food.

Some stuff that comes to mind:
shrimp
scollops
squid
clams
mussels
fish
crab
nori
etc.

Bob said that he will provide cyclops and oysterfest for our blend.

Thank You

Jan 30... wow, that's pretty far :) I have plenty of nori left over from when I made my batch of food. I'll try to come and bring some.

BTW I made enough food for probably 2 years with 8 bucks worth of seafood...

I'm good for about 50 full size sheets
of nori and some bluefish fillets

(Not white meat but fish love some oily taste) :hmm5:

I don't know about some fish that came out of Long Island Sound I'm a vey avid Saltwater fisher and don't even like eating the Blues I get but I guess if you cleaned them up good and they smell good might work..

You misunderstood me fiddly_foo, perhaps I didn't fully explain.
I am talking about going to the local fishmarket for one.
(Although I occasionally eat LI Sound Bluefish too.)

When I make my own food, I use primarily Whiting, for their white meat.
I also always add something oily in the food processor too, like Bluefish or Mackeral.
Only the best for my babies -Trust me, they tear that oily stuff right up...

Happy to do that, but how much of each of those do you need? I.E. - 2 mussels, 5 lbs of mussels?

Can't bring it if I don't know how much...

I have some of this dry seaweed w/ garlic that I no longer need. You think you guys would need it? I'm contemplating whether to go to the meeting or not.

For how much depends on how many people. I would suggest so we can get at least 1-2 pounds of that type of meat (shells not counted).

NOTE: Since we are an informal club with no treasury, therefore everything depends on members willing to donate/volunteer for the event on hand. Depending how many bags of food we are able to make from the donated ingredients priority will be given to those who contribute.

NOTE: If you are unable to make this meeting and would like a bag of food please drop off an ingredient at Bob's store, or to another member and we will be sure to put some aside for you.

While stopping at Bob's yesterday I asked about the bluefish and he said it was to oily/fatty and that we should be using cod.

Sorry if I came off wrong on my first note above but had to make it clear (although is probably not even necessary with this group).

Also other ingredients include:

flakes
pellets
garlic guard/garlic extreme
selcon
etc.

I'll bring something but prob not goona take any food only have a BC14 and 2 fish that eat but wanna help and have fun do we need any knives or blenders or anything...too Brian

I should be able to make it to this meeting. I'll bring something...cod, scallop etc, depending what I find at the store.
