January Membership Drive Meeting, January 21, 2012

Hello Everyone,
I hope Santa brought you what you wished for! If not hopefully you can return it for something you really want!

As I said in the "COMAS Remix" thread things have started off bumpy, but we are working hard at getting things all put together. We will have our membership drive January 21, 2012 at 7:30PM at UCO.

We will strive to have as many door prizes as possible to be raffled out among the members that have paid their 2012 dues to the club. The following companies have agreed to donate some goodies:

Prolineaquatics
Hamiltontechnology
Seachem
Reeflopumps is donating a blow hole pump valued at $159.
High Def Corals are donating 4 $25 gift certificates and 4 tubs of activated carbon.
Genesis Reef Systems $25 gift certificate
Reef Hobbyist Magazine

Membership dues are $25 for the year. Associate memberships are $10.
To be eligible associates need be family members with same home address.

This allows access to all of our programs including:
The Comas Library
The COMAS Equipment
The Frag Program
Free Entry into all of the Door Prizes at Meetings.

Also during the year we will be holding lectures on various topics. Please tell everyone you know about COMAS.

As more door prizes are obtained I will post to this thread.

Memberships can be paid at the meeting or in advance via PayPal comasokc@gmail.com. If using PayPal please mark the funds as a gift, doing so will exempt that payment from the standard fees. Please include your name, address, phone, email, and RC name in the messages/notes box.

Question...Im wanting to join COMAS and will be doing so before the January meeting, but my question is...My girlfriend is interested in joining as well, but she doesnt have an RC name or anything like that, basically she enjoys the hobby vicariously through me lol but she is learning along with me and interested in learning more and probably attending meetings, so would she register as an associate or would we do like a family deal?

Sounds great!!!! I don't have a lot of fancy stuff, but I will bring a frag for a door prize. Can I talk some of you other members into bringing a frag also? Matt, I am calling you out, How about bringing one of those SPS frags you are trying to get rid of...ha No obligation, just think it would be fun to have a bunch of random frags to give away!!!!!

This is pretty much the exact scenario that the associate membership is for, someone else in the same household interested in the hobby.

It's just a taller version of the same tank, in acrylic. (48x48x28) External overflow, drilled for a closed loop. Cbort here on RC had a thread title "Ultimate 280G Cube" or something close to that.

The glass tank is going to a new owner in Iowa.

Comas members, please help us get the word out about this meeting. As you know this is one of our best meetings with lots of great door prizes. It looks as if we are going to have more frags to give away than ever!!! Do we have any creative artistic folkes who can design a flyer so we can advertise our meetings at the LFS or anywhere else you can think of. Any advertising people who can help us come up with ideas on how to better advertise our membership drive? The more members, the more money the club has to purchase cool stuff!!! If your not a member, you need to check us out. Do you like free corals?!?!?!! Yes, FREE CORALS!!!! Come learn about our Frag program!!! The Frag Program alone is worth more than your membership. COMAS is a great club for the new saltwater enthusiast to the experienced reefer. Come check us out on Jan 21st. at 7:30 at UCO.
