Japanese Anemone care

Just got this this week. Eats like crazy and loves random flow. Does anyone else know more about this anemone? Lights, feeding (how oftern), temperature, etc...

its not dyed.. thats the halcreus or sumthin like that(i really dont know how to spell it but its sumthin like that).. they are a cooler water species.. i believe low 70's.. i believe they wont do well in higher temps..and yes they do like to eat..

Yes - now I remember, I've seen one that is totaly red. They come from The Mediteranean - will need cooler water.

Still have my 4 in the nano. No real changes except a lack of growth. Possibly missing something in the diet, etc.

Have 2 in my main system. Warmer temps, they don't seem to mind yet, but I have not had them as long.

The group of 4 is still in that 2.5g with a single 13wt 03 PC bulb. There is a tiny amount of natural sun coming through the window but it is negligible due to UV films on the glass, etc.

There are 2 in my main system, they have not show any sustained reaction to light, 400w or the 75wt incan grow bulb over my cheato algae. Frankly, I don't think they care one way or another.

Feed them every other day minimum. Keep the pieces smaller then a pencil eraser to avoid the regurg. If you read the thread where they wacked the mollies, one spit up some digested matter the next day.

Mine eat shrimp and fish based meals.

Off topic, but whats the deal with the bleached crispa and the rbta touching each other and being on the same rock. Thats a really quick way for one or two dead anemones...

Mine were eaten when I consolidated the nano into the main tank with the existing 2 specimens. Only took 24 hours and all 6 were gone

Congrats on your continued sustainment of the specimen

IME: The tentacle length should be longer then on the specimen pictured. Based on my experience, some of mine grew, but they did not look as depicted in wild specimens and the tentacles kept shrinking regardless of the diet, temps, lighting.

fwiw: mine never split.
