JBJ 28 Gallon Nano Owners Club

after messing with the skimmer, literally, almost tearing down the back walls of the tank, all is well. I can honestly say I have never been this frusterated and obsessed with getting something to work in my life!! I had to cut the silicone on one of the rear baffles to give me enough room to squeeze the skimmer back there, then I had to borrow a saw from my dad's work to cut a notch in the rear brace to give me legitimate room to work with. This skimmer (9002) is a PITA to get going, but it has been skimming like it is no ones business since being dialed in. It also quieted down a lot. It literally went from loud gurgling noises when breaking in, all the way to almost no sound. I feel the jbj 28 is a great tank , but it would of benefited most of us a lot more to have an extra inch of depth to work with in the rear sump. Anyways, I guess all I am trying to say is it can work, and it can work well, but it will cost you a head ache or two, or three, and a little elbow grease.:hammer:

I had an aqua c on there , but I could not stand the sound it made. I sold it, saved up some money, heard great things about the 9002 and took the plunge. Had I known it would have took this much effort I probably wouldn't have done it. Anyways I am happy with it now. No more annoying sounds :)

Everything's kind of unorganized, but I'm just getting started.
Here's my JBJ 28g LED at 4 months. I'm pretty sure I'll be moving
out some livestock and that crazy torch soon, so I can make
room for more corals.

Looks great! Have you had any temperature problems with the LED lights? Also, what sort of evap do you get?

Looking for a low evap, high light system and I am thinking the LED jbj 28 fits the bill. :fun4:

I live in NC, heat can reach temperatures in the upper 90s in the summer. With no AC on in the summer, the tank can get quite warm 82-84F. AC on, it sits nicely around 78-79F. And, I haven't noticed alot of evaporation, but I add about 1/4 cup two to three times a day.

Underneath the "Add to Cart" button is the "Price Match Guarantee" button. Sorry for the delayed response, been out of town since the 29th. Just got my Deltec set-up this afternoon, will post pics soon.
Got a hold of MarineDepot - the logo only appears when the item is in stock! It finally showed up tonight (guessing they finally got it in stock again). Just ordered, hopefully goes through!

Is anyone currently keeping a GBTA or RBTA in their tank? I added one to mine yesterday since there are only a few other mushrooms and a frag of zoas in there now so the GBTA can't do much damage to any corals.

Probably get a better answer over in the nano tank forum. That having been said, I had an RBTA for about a year and half. It struggled pretty hard, finally got stressed, split, and one half died. As soon as I took it out of my tank every single piece in there started growing significantly more. Coincidence? Not sure, but that was my experience

I added one a few weeks ago and it is doing well. The biggest problem I have with it is the fact that my skunks won't hide out in it. I do realize its not their natural host but many others have done this with success.

Mine decided to attach itself to the back of the biggest rock in my tank, so its allll the way in the back left corner, it gets minimal light. I might aim a powerhead at it after I feed it tomorrow to get it to mozy on out of the back of the tank and into the front. I'm hoping
my False Perc takes to it.
Will it eat a chunk of raw shrimp about 1/4-1/2" thick if it can expand itself to about 5" wide?

Honestly ifit has attached itself to a rock I would probably leave out alone. Anemones will move around until they find a spot that suits them. Mine has settled in back as well and I plan on leaving him alone. The shrimp would work but you could vary its diet from time to time.

I guess that's true, I mean if it's happy why bug it? If it isn't happy with where it is it can move, but I'm worried cause it's right next to my goby's tunnel
