I'm thinking Bryopsis as well. I'd hit it with Flucon just to be safe.

I’d also hit it with Fluconazole. It’s the only thing that worked for me

I ordered some Fluconazole and it will be here tomorrow. I really didn't want to resort to this right after the cycle but if Bryopsis, then it is taking over quickly. I guess that's a good sign that the lights are working.....or that they are algae magnets.

Probably a good idea not to add the macro algae for the next couple of weeks?

I believe my instructions said to remove macro as well. Mine took a good 10-14 days to really have significant impact. There was noticeable impact earlier but a true visual impact wasn’t until later.

I figured as much. Even if it doesn't kill them, it is probably not a good idea to introduce stressed plants to the system during the treatment.

I ran fluc a couple of times in the past and it did work well and I remember it taking around two weeks. I am going to try and manually remove as much as I can tonight before dosing fluc to the system. Hopefully that should help speed it up.

Man, I hope not. If so, it had to of come in on the live rock.

The spores can live dried out on any of your equipment if you had it before and didn't disinfect. I agree, fluc it.

Dosed Fluc last night. The good news is that I don't think my lights will have an issue growing anything.

I am currently dosing 7500ml of Kalk daily along with hand dosing over 500ml of soda ash daily. If I don't dose, I use over 1dkh daily. I am trying to keep the tank around 12 dkh. I want to run the tank between 11-12 and see how the corals respond to it when I add them.

Does it seem normal to add this much alk daily with no corals, etc?

Me too! Had me scratching my head until I read and remembered that the nitrogen process will consume alk. I would say, especially right now that it is in overdrive for real estate, then that is probably the reason.

I will check nitrate tonight but with the amount of foliage I have in the tank right now, it will probably be near 0.

It was getting thick before I dosed. It has thinned out and turned white since dosing. It also doesn't hurt that I did a double dose of Fluconazole...

Yeah that is why I did it. I started with one dose and a day later I said the heck with it and dumped the second dose in. It doesn't seem to have affected anything else on the live rocks.

Good he hear. This should take care of the issue. I can't wait for you to start adding corals. Some tabling Acros would look awesome in that tank.
