Jebao to apex adapter

I just got this in from fish street. Will see how it works with the apex and rw8.

reading the description from fish street it drives 2 pumps at 1/2 the speed. 0-5v @ 1/2 DC power according to the description. So i guess it's less power.

Ugh, 2 pumps at half the speed? That kind of sucks.

Hopefully the cable allows you to have fine speed changes, maybe something along the lines of the Vortech Lagoon settings, that's the one thing I don't like about Jebao pumps is there are 3 levels of speed control only, and not much in the way of randomization you can have full current, regular pulsing (on/off) or randomized pulsing.

Best choice I think is to make your own adapter to connect to apex, that's what I personally did. It's really cheap and pretty easy to make. If you're not too comfortable with building it the reef angel Jebao cable is pretty much all built and you just need to connect 2 wires to a network cable to complete the apex adapter.

Will the Reef Angel cables work with the new pumps?

Mine just arrived. Did you just take your rw8 power cable and connect it to the box?

Also do you know if I can just use an old ethernet cable (from an old router) to connect to the v1/v2 of the apex?

Problem with using the Apex is that it doesn't have random capability on the 0-10v out, so you are pretty limited on what you can do. I ended up using "weather" to randomly switch between two speeds, like 40% for "sunny" and 70% for "clouds" with clouds 10% of the time lasting 1 minute. I have a few of these profiles set up and switch between them throughout the day. I use the reef angel cable. It does the job just fine, just wish there were better programming options with the Apex.
