jebao vs vortech

I am saving up to buy a Vortech quiet drive to replace my 3 year old jebao WP40 but I am having doubts and wondering if my tank would do better with two jebaos instead of one vortech. I have a 5 foot long 187 gallon softy tank. What do you think?

If it were me, two vortech's or two Tunze 6105's. I think with only one of anything you will have dead spots. But, I would go with the two WP40's over one Vortech unless you can afford my way.

5 feet long you need two powerheads for sure.

Id go vortech, always. Would 2 mp10's work for your tank? That seems like enough flow IMHO.

I have a single jebao rw15 on my 6' 125 with about 500gph through my sump. Seems to do great, and any more than half power on the jebao blows stuff around.

Agree that one rw15 can push a ton of water, but not having random flow is a deal killer.

Get two Vortech's and you won't be disappointed.

Agree two power heads are definitely the way to go, but I don't know if mp 10s would be enough for a 180, even for softies.. I could be wrong though, I've never keep a lot of softies, or had a tank that big..

Mp10s are barley enough for my 45g frag tank. You need Mp40's for sure in a 180. I have two on my 125 and if I didn't have sand would add more.

Had 2 rw jebaos and 2 mp 40's on my 300 gallon but now I'm down to 1 Jebao and 2 vortechs because it died after only 9 months. Vortechs seem to have a wider flow and it's nice being able to control them and count on them to keep running. Jebao was pretty good while it worked but the quality isn't there.

Some of you think that Vortechs don't 'break down' either?

Personally, I like the cleaner outer surface (w/o vortech), and the fact that I can virtually adjust the flow in ANY direction. The controller on the WP/RW,

Oh, and did I mention the PRICE savings?

Calm down.

Oh you edited out your baby rage. Cute.

I must be a few years ahead on the life expectancy then.

So, you think Vortechs don't break down, are loud as hell, etc.?
Well then, good.

And I'm sure your exspensive Radions grow coral muck better than my
Chiness knock offs, for 1/6 the price.:deadhorse:

I use radiums. My reefbreeders were ditched long ago in favor of proven lighting.

Also, my mp40qd is dead silent at 100%.

Not everyone has to or wants to buy the cheapest things out there. :deadhorse1:

Please be kind or go away...please. I enjoy lively discourse regarding the all serious saltwater HOBBY as much as the next person. But blasting other members for their choice in equipment just gets old. Your scathing remarks break communication down, and detract from the experience of sharing and learning on Reef Central. And from the whole point of this thread which is to gather as many reef keepers views and personal experiences with the equipment in question. We all try to experience this hobby within the limits of our financial means, and budgets, and we all come from varied backgrounds, incomes, and values. But that is for another discussion entirely.

jebao vs vortech

If your last jebao Lasted three years, I vote you buy more jebao

U should know retailers are free to recommend their products on RC while posing as members

I didn't say it doesn't work for anyone. Pretty sure most would agree that on the large scale, halides and T5 have a much longer track record of SPS success and I wanted lighting to NOT be a variable of my success.

Your tank would probably do better with flow coming from both sides. Is your 3 year old Jebao still working? If so, add a Vortech to the other side.

FWIW, MP40QDs are dead silent at 100%.
