jebao vs vortech

MP10's only work on up to 3/8" thick glass - they won't adhere to 1/2" glass on a 180. 2 Mp40 will be overkill on a softie tank, save the money and go jabeo.

I purchased the Jebao PP15. I just could not spend the money on a vortech. I am back to thinking about 2 dc powered smaller pumps and considering the hydors again. Are there any other nice and nicely priced pumps I should consider in your opinion and experience.

I must be a few years ahead on the life expectancy then.

So, you think Vortechs don't break down, are loud as hell, etc.?
Well then, good.

And I'm sure your exspensive Radions grow coral muck better than my
Chiness knock offs, for 1/6 the price.:deadhorse:

Anything can break down, that's not a useful comment. What matters is looking at the bigger picture and what the average reliability is for devices. The Vortechs are extremely reliable while the Jebaos aren't. Just a fact. It's fine if you prefer the latter, but there's no reason to dis the former. Vortechs are NOT loud (the newer QDs), they are NOT unreliable... Yes, they ARE expensive. But they are unmatched in the hobby. The randomized and ecosmart modes alone are worth far more than any ability to direct a powerhead. :uzi:

I have also owned both Jebao and Vortech. I now run 2 MP40s on a 4' 75 gal mixed reef.
The Jebao PP8's made a light clicking sound everytime they would turn on during pulse mode. My mp40s are extremely quiet. I also like that there are no wires coming out of my tank. I guess it comes down to your budget. They will both move water and simulate ocean currents.

Rossmont mover pumps and waver controller, thats the Way to go!
Made in the home of "the Ferrari" ;-)

Completely agree, on all your points. I tried a few Jebao circulators and of the four only one lasted more than 2 years. My vortechs, on the other hand, are all still working flawlessly (two are 2 years old, the rest over 4). I've too much time and $$ sunk into livestock to risk it on unreliable equipment.

last July I came home to a nonworking Jebao MP40. It ran for atleast 2-3 years. The light just blinks on the power inverter box. I bought a Jebao pp 15 with a credit I had from Amazon. It just quit working this month.:mad2: So here I am again...I just bought a second light AI Hydra 26HD. No monies for more toys right now. So I have rewatched the video, reread all the suggestions and I am thinking about getting a hydor that I can use with a controller, and add another hydor soon, and a controller in the future if I want some variable flow. The tank seemed happiest when I ran the Jebao on about 30-40% constant flow.

well, I contacted Amazon as the seller CNZ Lighting phone number gives a is a not in use recording. They are going to refund me when I send the pump back. huh..who knew! I will keep you posted.

I'll share my experience. I've had almost a dozen Jebao products since they first launched without one failure. Sure, they are not as sexy looking as the EcoTech but it would cost me $1400 to replace all my Jebao. I was one of the first people in the states to get a DCP series pump and it's been a champ. I still running the DCT and RW series and only clean them twice a year.

I have two MP10s on my 75 gallon. I control them thru an APEX. I can't hear them run unless I put my ear right next to them. The fans in my APEX make more noise. They definitely aren't inexpensive.

well ths fell thru pretty fast. Just got a call from an Amazon customer service rep. She states that Amazon can not do anything but they will forward me the contact infor for Jebao. Still waiting for that email...
