Jebao WP25 Information

yup im out at 90$ too... if it gets in the 40-50$ range then I'll scoop one up. I paid 112 to my door for my WP40, I might as well do the same thing again rather than getting the 25...

Guys, all this whinning about the price of a WP25... what's up with that?

It isn't even out yet. And you really don't know when it will be out (I've heard 2 weeks and July). You don't have any REAL idea what the cost will be. You have no idea how many distributors will be carrying it (I know one new one in the US). So it's close to the price of a WP40... so what? It's still 10%-25% of what you would pay for anybody else's small wave maker! And shipping costs of $20 per pump... that's a problem? Seriously?

This is one of the best deals that will lower costs and improve tanks since quality Chinese led fixtures hit the market 6 months ago. Quit complaining and just hold your horses until the darn thing actually hits the streets. Geez! :lolspin:

I agree with Ron. I'm disappointed that the price was not lower but it gives me another option. For me with a 72 gallon tank, I dont need all the power of the WP40, so the benefit of the smaller footprint and other upgrades are more worth it to me then the power. I still think I will buy it to upgrade from my koralias.

$50 would be an impulse buy. Closer to $100 isn't. I would get it in a heartbeat for $50. Once the price starts going up, I have to think about whether I really need it or not (regardless of how nice it is).

But I agree, Ron. It will be interesting to see the actual price when it releases.

I agree with Colin who agreed with Ron.:spin2:
I WANT a pump with a smaller footprint. At $50-$60 there wasn't much thinking about it. At $90 I start to think, do I really NEED this pump? No. The wp40 is doing just fine.

I wouldn't be so sure about that price. Until i see Facts, i have seen too many post with a $45-50 dollar price for the WP25. I was recently solicited by pm on someone out of state wanting to do a "group Buy" for $70 plus shipping.

I pre-ordered a WP25 yesterday. I paid $ 90 including shipping to Sweden. For this, I also have to pay the Swedish VAT ($ 22.5)

My option was otherwise a Tunze nano stream 6055 (around $ 360 including controller and freight) or a Vortech MP10 ES EcoSMART (price in Sweden, similar to Tunze Nano Stream 6055 with control unit)

Honestly, I did not have to think twice about how to do.

Sincerely Lasse

My email from fish-street, hopefully he is wrong.
Normal Price for USD95, back order USD90 now

Today I was on a site from here in Canada which sells the WP40 and noticed that they are accepting pre orders for the WP25.

They are charging $105 and free shipping for it and the web site also claims that they will arrive in Canada around May 1st.

I bought a WP40 on ebay for 108 dollars, coming out of virgina. If it works like it should, I will be looking to sell my mp40...

The point really isn't the price, for me anyways. Some tanks can't accommodate the size or flow of the WP40, thus the WP25 is a suitable choice.

I believe Ecotech sells the Vortechs at a tiered price because that's how US companies do it. It should cost them relatively close to the same to build all three of their pumps, but they bump of the price because 1) people are used to paying more for more features of a higher tiered product and 2) because people buy them. It is my opinion most Chinese manufacturers sell items for what they need to make a profit on them, which is why we see these all right around $100. If not, the WP40 would be $200.

I guess it may just be a preconceived notion that it would have been cheaper that disappoints me a little, but i still feel it is pretty cheap for what it is able to do

Yeah, I thought it was going to be considerably cheaper too. Not the $30 that Jebao told me, but around $50.

But keep in mind that besides being a smaller footprint, the WP25 is supposed to have variable speed control that the first gen WP40 doesn't. So if Jebao does release the WP40 with the variable speed control, we may see an increase in the price of that unit.

For now, I'm getting my Reef Angel next week sometime and that will probably be good enough for me, even though the smaller footprint in a 55 gallon tank would be nice.

If they use the same controller and setup, assuming the WP25 is 24v, you should be able to swap the controllers and put the variable control on the WP40 and run the WP25 full bore.

If they are gonna cost 100plus to ship I may just end up going mp 10 at the used price of 175 :( I was hoping range would have been 60-75 for 25

I don't understand how anyone would be willing to spend the same amount of money on a pump that's half the size and half the power of the other one.

For me the silver lining may be a group buy. If you could get a wp40 for $40 + shipping I would think you could get that deal with the wp25.

Its all about real estate in the tank. If you are running a nano, you don't want a 6" long PH in the tank. Or on that will push half the water out if it accidentally gets turned up.
