Jebao WP25 Information

I've had a wp25 in my 75 for a while now. A couple months maybe 2 or 3. I've always wanted to put it on Else mode since it's more random and awesome flow. It was WAYYY too strong for my tank. blowing sand and corals everywhere and almost pushed water over the top of my 75. 48x18. I have it on else mode now, and it's fine. Could use a little more push but I feel like it just needs to be cleaned.

Great pump IMO

I hate the looks of a powerhead in my DT so I'm thinking about giving the WP25 a shot do to their small profile it should be easier to hide. Could someone please tell me the size of the WP25? I can't seem to find the measurements looking for length and O/D. Thanks

Anyone?

I know it's in this thread somewhere. Have you looked through it?

I was able to find this on the web...
Size – body dia 70×90mm; outlet 40mm

That translates to 2 3/4" x 3 1/2" with an outlet of 1.5"

I have a feeling these things require a cleaning every month or so to help hold off some if the issue with getting gunked up, overheating and going out.

Vinegar bath every 4 months or so probably a good idea.

Remember they probably did not go through the long term testing a vortech or tunze would.

I would like to see some objective data to validate the pump loses speed over time. So far the observations reported of pump loses speed or power are pretty subjective. I personnally didn't see or experience any of my WP40 and WP25 lost speed since I started using them in Feb.

I have the 25 on my 72 Bow and for the first few months I have great movement. But lately, not so much. I even clean it the other day with vinager and a toothbrush. After doing so it seemed like it gained a little but of the power back. But not nearly what it once was. I've had the 25 for about 8 months.

Nothing to publish in a scholarly journal, but when I got mine 3 months ago it created a standing wave that forced the water to splash on the frame. Over 1" tall. Now. Even with a cleaning. The wave is there. But it's about half as tall. I clean my impeller every 2 weeks. For the price they're awesome and a good item as a hold over, but I will be going tunze in the future

Thought I would post an update here. Received the replacement from Fish Street in about a week for the cost of shipping ($10). New pump motor is working fine. Was hoping to get a complete unit to have a spare controller, impeller, magnet mount, etc., but they sent only the pump ball itself. All is well now, and time will tell if the failure rate on these is as bad as my first one (3 months).

Thought I would post my experiences with the WP25's as well. For the record, I'm slightly still in favor of them. Bought my first one in August from Fish Street. Liked it so much that I bought another a month later. Replaced three Koralia's with the 2 WP25's and the tank seemed to love the flow. I keep both in Else mode, and usually alternate and set one or the other on W1 S1 over the weekend for a little variety. Last Friday, set the left one (the one originally purchased in August) to wave mode before going to sleep. Woke up the next morning and noticed no wave action happening. Checked the pump, cycled power a few times, removed to clean, but still no go. Swapped controllers, and it was definitely the pump itself that died (it was pretty warm when I removed to clean). To their credit, Fish Street agreed to ship a replacement for $10 shipping, so it's now on the way.

I had hoped to get more than 3 months out of a pump, so time will tell how much of a bargain these really are. I was absolutely sold on these at first, considerably less sold on them now. We'll see in 6 months or so how much of a bargain they really are.

I sent in for my replacement WP40, but they charged me $20 for shipping. It is a workhorse, but like you said, they sent just the bare pump.

i have a 4 months old Wp25 and recently bought a new wp 25. turns out the power lost is quite alot. probably 25-40% power lost.

so i replaced the older(power lost) unit with another new wp25, and once again, after just 2 months. power lost is probably at 50%. took both pumps apart and clean thoroughly. and this time round both came back as strong as new! the power difference between cleaning and uncleaned is HUGE. probably twice as strong after cleaning. i can no longer set on else mode and had to set back to w1 when i first got it. i probably got a lemon set for the previous wp25.

great pumps as usual!

Does anyone know where I can find the 12v to 24v adjustable power supply that fish street sells to dial down the wp pumps other than fish street? Is there a brick and mortar store in the us that sells them or another online link from amazon or ebay?

I apologize if I missed this information earlier in this thread. Thanks in advance!

I was messing in my tank yesterday and I've not I've that one of my wp25 not working as it was before. Last week I redirect it. By moving pump outside magnet felt off. I've notice interesting thing when pump set in horizontal position it is blowing full power but when I turn it slightly to right it is slowing down. But then I've turn the outside magnet clockwise and pump is doing 100% again.
So by turning outside magnet polarity must be changed or something that is making pump to act like that. Anyway they are both working great.

Radio Shack should carry them.

For those who are wondering about size....
