Jebao WP25 Information

I understand Ron, and I would have stayed in the background here except that people were saying what a great pump it is and no one even has it yet. I had to ask if anyone actually has it yet, no surprise that they don't and were just tossing out hype based on nothing. My own personal reasons for keeping as much of China out of my life as possible has nothing to do with this pump. My desire to see it be decent isn't for me, but for those who can take advantage of a decent product at a good price. But calling a great product is very premature.

These products have just been released and also have a lot of pressure to pump out more pumps with the skyrocketing demand. To increase production may equate to less quality of a product. Hence why there might have been some messed up controllers, sensors, etc etc. They are including the variable power thanks to the customer recommending one. They are improving a product that literally has just been released. Take into account ecotech has had their pumps out for quite some time and have run into many issues that have been addressed and backed by great customer support, same applies to tunze and hydor. Give it time, you cant expect a product that was just released to be perfect, sometimes you gotta iron out the flaws.

Ecotech isn't worried about these pumps. Anyone seriously considering a few vortechs, isn't looking at these. They are completely different pumps.

I'd bet koralia is more worried than Tunze and Ecotech.

I don't think this is true, not for me at least. I was about to pull the trigger on the 6105 and controller and bought these instead.

I just find it funny that lots of people are happy with their Jebo WP pumps and every week or so someone comes out of left field and tries to tell us how crappy they are. Nobody has a WP25 yet because they are not out yet, but some of us have had WP40s for some time and are happy with their products.

For me, the coolest thing is this is the first DC motor we can easily hook up to our own controllers that is actually affordable. That is why people were trying to build controllers for the Koralia 'DC' pumps, because you can add new pumps on the cheap, ~$30-60.

Coming in here to talk down about the Jebo WP line of pumps you don't own or know about is like showing up to a Christmas party to tell all the kids Santa isn't real.

Santa's not real???

Let's not get this one locked, whether you approve of not, the pump will be used and if it is quality it will be known, if it isn't it will also be known.

No, the already numerous quality issues reported in the WP40 thread

I haven't seen any issues in that thread that would bring you to the conclusion that the pump is "junk". Sorry but you are completely off-base with your assumption and like Ron said you are just stirring the pot.

I never said it was junk, but ask yourself this, if the mfg. is making and selling this product with zero warranty, what do they know about the product that we don't?

My apologies, I got you mixed up with a different poster. What product has "no warranty"? The WP40 comes with a Standard 1 year warranty.

I don't own one..

But I am curious to see how the customer service stands up over the time. I think THUS far these pumps seem to rock, however we are still in it very early(few months or so). Personally, I traded tunzes(which I love) for vortechs(which noise drives me crazy on my stock tank) ONLY due to new tank being eurobraced and wanting to keep the clean look of no cables this pump was not an option for me. However I would consider one for my sump to stir debris up for the skimmer. I would like to see this pump do well as it is a great opportunity for reef lovers who don't want to spend tons of money on pumps or those that can't spend that type of money. I think in its early stages it is too soon to say how good or not it is. Time will tell WHEN pumps malfunction(they all do) to see how customer service replies then.

Not from the manufacturer, so what do they know about the product they make if they have zero faith in it? Think back a little, can you name one product that is a third to a half of the price of competing products that is quality?

On another note, and back on topic...

Can someone start up some sort of pre sign-up group buy for the WP-25? I am sure we can round up a ton of people and get a pretty sweet deal. If so, sign me up for two.

I'm sitting here amazed at how this pump has polarized people. If you like it buy it.... if you don't like it don't buy it. No need to get crazy over it.

As a matter of fact I can. I have purchased RC helicopters direct from China at 1/3 of the price I can buy them for here and the quality is the same. Hell we were at Brokestone last night and they had the exact (relabeled) RC helicopter I bought from China and it was 3x as much. The fact these pumps are coming directly from China is a big part of the cost savings. If the shipping was cheaper like it is for the RC stuff the pumps would be even cheaper.

I think that is because those that have paid $$$ for their pumps just can believe that a MUCH cheaper comparable pump can't be junk.

Well guys, just for fun I'm going to blow my own horn here. Back on 4/8 at 7am in the WP40 thread, in post #2235, I said:

"I'm happy with my pump. And if the WP25 is physically smaller than the WP40, I'll probably buy 5 or 6 for my 4 tanks. I know the 'data sheet' that has been posted shows the WP40 and WP25 are the same size... but don't believe everything you read on the internet. I have reason to believe it will be smaller and that the data sheet was either an accidental (or maybe deliberate) mistake. We'll see when they come out in... ?"

And now that I've seen it, I need 6 of them!

And ryan1985... you are right on the money. Between EverGrow's IT series leds and Jebao's WP wave makers, Eco Tech has to be looking at some very serious loss of market share coming in the next 6 months. Anybody want to bet on the price of an MP40 by the time MACNA gets here next Fall? :wavehand:

Ill take that bet ...

$465 says it stays at $465 by MACNA 2013

Tiebreaker goes to number of electrical problems/fires these Chinese knockoffs produce ... Honestly, hope this number remains zero and it turns out to be a quality product, LONG-TERM, which indubitably will lead to better products/pricing, in the future, as competition increases in this crucial/pivotal area of ReefKeeping products

I know this is a little off topic, but does anyone have any updated info on the WP25?
I wonder what the GPH ratings will be at the various settings.

Chinese garbage.

Yeah, lets all buy this cheap copycat knockoff garbage and put the real quality companies who actually design their own products out of business.

I hope everyone that buys these gets electricuted.

I wish this was made by an american company so they would be sued and put out of business.

Seriously? I can now skip over your posts as they are obviously of no value. Kick rocks pal.

Just think about that response. You hope someone gets hurt or possibly worse?
