Jebao WP25 Information

In the WP40 thread we discussed the business model in China where manufacturer awards primary distributorship to one company which in turn sells to other wholesalers and retailers. It is the distributor, wholesalers, and retailers who have to take care of customer services and addresses product issues, not the manufacturer. So if a group buy is direct from the manufacturer (ie Jebao), you may not get much customer support from Jebao. Just keep that in mind.

That is the problem. I think people want vortech/tunze customer service for wholesale jebao prices. If a retailer is going to give you a good warranty and customer service on these pumps, they are going to have to charge a higher retail to hedge their losses on warranty claims. Personally, I'd rather pay $65 or so and take my chances instead of paying $100 retail. My wp40 that I bought 3 dealers removed is performing well enough to back up my feelings.

I agree with you, but I'm just trying to make people aware that there is a chance the are taking.

People (and I used to be one of them) think that "Hey there is a manufacturers warranty on it so I can always go back to them if there is a problem."

That's not always the case.

I will still do it with a large well known company.
IE: I bought a Garmin GPS on EBay for great deal less then I found it anywhere else.
Garmin is a well known company that backup their product so I felt safe in knowing they would stand behind it.

We all know customer service are not free. Think of computer support. We used to get free technical support from reputable brand company until computer becomes a commodity (Apple excluded). Now they charge you per call or service. Some of us are pretty much not expecting any sort of after sale support on the WP40. Any support provides by the retailer are just above and beyond expectation. Many who bought this with intention to modify the pump to work with their controller won't expect any warranty support anyway.

This thread has been open for 6 days and there is already 200 posts. That goes to show you there is some major interest in it. I was planning on picking up a second MP10 for my 50 gal, but now I think I might try one of these.

There should be a discount on shipping if ordering multiple pumps. I already have the wp40 but was considering replacing it with 2-3 wp25s. I have the wp40 running at only 12 volts in my 90gal, so I don't need that big of a pump, but if there is no discount on shipping with the purchase of multiple pumps I will probably just stick with the wp40 and maybe order one wp25.

There is. IIRC, shipping on a single WP40 is $25 and for two it is $45.

But are you buying from the wholesaler or retailer? If it is the retailer, they may "eat" a percentage of the shipping cost while the manufacturer will not. Some manufacturers from China actually mark up the shipping charges.

Give it a little time. Both pumps will start turning up from sites here in the US and shipping will be done differently by different sellers.

Ive already seen sites in the US selling these for $100 shipped. This is for the wp40...

I just bought 2 from Virginia from an eBay store for $210 shipped. That's a little more than fish street($15) and I have eBay/PayPal protection( whatever that may be LOL) If it shows up faulty like the very few that have.And it's set to be here in 2 days.. The $15 is worth it to me for the hassle and impatience that I posess when it comes to getting things I want

I cannot get any response about group buys from jebao direct. They simply will not sell them outside of fish street. I have had friends and family all try to buy in bulk. If anyone has been able to order direct from jebao let me know so we can see what you did different.
